Malki discusses latest political developments with German counterpart in Berlin

BERLIN– Minister of foreign affairs and expatriates, Riyad al-Malki today briefed his German counterpart, Annalena Baerbock, on the latest developments in Palestine and the ongoing escalation committed against the Palestinian people at the hands of Israeli forces and settlers.

This came during a meeting in Berlin at the headquarters of the German foreign ministry, where they discussed bilateral relations and ways to promote joint international efforts to end the occupation and enable the Palestinian people to exercise their inalienable legitimate rights.

Malki stressed the importance of the political role that Germany could play to launch a serious political endeavor that leads to the realization of the two-state solution in accordance with international references as well as the need to activate the international mobility in this regard.

He thanked Germany for its efforts in supporting UNRWA and its activities targeting Palestinian refugees, praising its role in supporting Palestinian institutions and its contribution in competence-building and infrastructure improvement in the West Bank and the Gaza Strip.

Malki is participating in the 8th World Congress against the Death Penalty taking place in Berlin from the 15 to 18.
