Minister Assaf briefs Egyptian MPs, writers, media figures on latest developments in Palestine

Minister Ahmad Assaf, the General Supervisor of Official Palestinian Media, briefed today a number of Egyptian parliamentarians, senior writers and media figures, on the latest developments in Palestine as well as the Israeli crimes against the Palestinian people.

During the meeting, which was held at the headquarters of the Palestinian Public Authority for Radio and Television in Cairo, Assaf talked about the seriousness of the ongoing Israeli attacks on the Palestinian people and their rights and religious sanctities, including the Al-Aqsa Mosque.

He also warned of the continuation of the Israeli occupation state’s aggressive unilateral actions of settlement and demolition of Palestinian-owned homes, stressing that the occupation soldiers and terrorist settlers exchange roles in the attacks against the Palestinian people.

Assaf affirmed that all these crimes will not discourage the Palestinian people from continuing their struggle to achieve their goals of freedom, independence, and the establishment of their state on the lines of June 4, 1967, with Jerusalem as its capital.

He revealed that there are diplomatic efforts and a great political movement led by President Mahmoud Abbas, in coordination with Arab leaders, to confront the Israeli occupation’s nonstop aggression against the Palestinian people, with the aim of forcing Israel to stop its belligerence.

Meanwhile, Minister Assaf briefed the Egyptian guests on the Palestinian media effort to expose Israeli violations and the impact of this media coverage on shaping public opinion and the Palestinian narrative.

The minister as well exposed the constant harassment and obstacles that journalists and media crews are facing while carrying out their duties.

The meeting was also attended by Media Counselor for the Palestinian Embassy in Cairo, Naji Al-Naji.
