Ministry of Interior spokesman clarifies circumstances of what happened in Rada’a district in Al-Bayda

The spokesman of the Ministry of Interior, Brigadier General Abdul Khaliq Al-Ajri, expressed the ministry’s regret over the painful incident in the city of Rada’a in Al-Bayda province, which resulted in the death of a number of security men and citizens.

The spokesman for the Ministry of Interior explained in a statement received by Saba that the incident, which occurred in the Rada’a district of Al-Bayda governorate, occurred as a result of a mistake by some security men during the implementation of a security campaign to pursue some saboteurs who attacked security men earlier, which led to the death of two security men and the injury of others.

While security agents were pursuing the saboteurs, some individuals used excessive and illegal force in an irresponsible response without returning and taking instructions from the security leadership or the Interior Ministry’s knowledge, he said.

Brigadier General Al-Ajri pointed out that the Ministry of Interior has formed urgent field committees to investigate
the details of the incident that took place in the Radaa district. He pointed out that the Minister of Interior directed to arrest the perpetrators involved in the incident and refer them to justice.

He stressed that the ministry will not tolerate the arrest of any transgressor of security men or members of the security institution in any region and anyone who violates the law or violates the ethics of security work and the obligations of the security man. He pointed out that the Minister of Interior also directed compensation for the families of the victims and those affected by the incident.

Brigadier General Al-Ajri pointed out that the Minister of Interior expressed regret for what happened in the Radaa district, stressing that the security men can only be protectors of the security and tranquility of the homeland and the citizen.
