OIC condemns Honduras relocation of embassy to occupied Jerusalem

JEDDAH, The Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) Thursday condemned Honduras relocation of its embassy to the occupied city of Jerusalem.

OIC called the move in a press statement as “an illegitimate action and a violation of international law and relevant UN resolutions, particularly Security Council resolution 478 (1980), which calls on the UN member states to withdraw their diplomatic missions from the sacred city.”

The OIC General Secretariat called on the Republic of Honduras to reverse its illegal decision, stressing the need for the international community to engage in the effort to achieve a just and comprehensive peace settlement, based on the UN resolutions and the Arab Peace Initiative, providing for the two-state solution and the establishment of the State of Palestine with East Jerusalem as its capital.
