Palestine confirms 64 new coronavirus cases, 117 recovery cases

Palestine today confirmed 64 new Covid-19 cases and 117 recovery cases, according to Health Minister Mai al-Kaileh.

She announced that 64 Palestinians tested positive for the highly contagious virus; nine in the West Bank and 55 others in the besieged Gaza Strip.

She added that 117 Covid-19 patients recovered; 17 recovery cases in the West Bank and 100 others in the Gaza Strip.

She pointed that five Covid-19 patients are getting treatment in intensive care units, and 13 others are currently receiving treatment at hospitals and Covid-19 dispensaries.

She said that the recovery rate in Palestine has so far reached 98.4 percent, while active cases declined to 0.5 percent. The death toll stood at 1.1 percent of total infections.

Regarding the Covid-19 vaccination rollout, al-Kaileh said that 548,006 people have received their first jab of the vaccine in the West Bank and the Gaza Strip, including 391,730 people who received the second dose of the vaccine.
