Palestine records 1,240 new coronavirus cases, six deaths

Palestine today recorded 1,240 new Covid-19 cases and six deaths, according to Health Minister Mai Al-Kaileh.

She announced that 1,240 Palestinians tested positive for the highly contagious virus and six others died of it in the occupied territories.

Among the new 1,240 cases, 946 cases were recorded in the West Bank and 294 others in the besieged Gaza Strip.

Al-Kaileh identified one death case as a resident of the Gaza Strip and five others as residents of the West Bank.

She added that 362 Covid-19 patients recovered; 277 recovery cases in the West Bank and 85 others in the Gaza Strip.

She pointed that 58 Covid-19 patients are getting treatment in intensive care units, including 24 who are connected to ventilators, while 88 others are currently hospitalized across the West Bank.

Recoveries account for 97.2 percent of total cases since the pandemic outbreak in March 2020, active cases for 1.8 percent and the death toll accounts for 1 percent.
