PM Shtayyeh says all difficulties facing entry of Qatari fund to Gaza have been overcome

Prime Minister Mohammed Shtayyeh today said that all difficulties to transfer the Qatari aid to hard-hit Palestinian families in the Gaza Strip have been overcome.

He said in a statement that the Qatari aid will be delivered through the United Nations and its institutions, noting that the Palestinian Monetary Authority was instructed to ensure that the funds would reach those in need.

The Prime Minister stressed the Palestinian government wants to provide all possible support to Palestinians in Gaza, calling for an end to the siege Israel has imposed on the Gaza Strip since 2005 and to remove all Israeli obstacles that stand in the way of the reconstruction of Gaza following the latest Israeli war in May in order to provide shelter for the families that lost their homes before winter.

He also called on the international community to provide the necessary funding for the reconstruction of Gaza.
