President Mahmoud Abbas received this evening at the presidential headquarters in Ramallah US Acting Assistant Secretary of State for Near Eastern Affairs Yael Lambert.
The President briefed Lambert on the latest developments in the Palestinian territories, especially the unilateral Israeli measures that undermine the two-state solution, stressing the need to stop these Israeli measures and to implement the agreements signed between the two sides in order to start a real political process based on the resolutions of the United Nations.
The President stressed the importance of strengthening bilateral relations with the United States and overcoming the obstacles that stand in the way of these relations.
President Abbas is expected to receive tomorrow evening US National Security Advisor Jake Sullivan who started tonight a visit to the region.
