Sixteen people have died of coronavirus in Palestine in the last 24 hours while 2103 new cases were recorded, today said Minister of Health Mail Alkaila.

She said in her daily report on the virus in Palestine that eight people died in the West Bank and 803 new cases were confirmed, while 904 patients have recovered.

The Gaza Strip also reported eight deaths, 1300 new cases and 358 recoveries.

Alkaila said 221 people are in hospitals getting treatment for coronavirus, and 76 are intensive care, while 10 patients are on ventilators.

A total of 1,306,012 people have been vaccinated against coronavirus in Palestine and 587,112 have had the second dose of the vaccine.

The West Bank rate of vaccination was 52.9 percent and Gaza 30.2 percent.
