The President of the Republic arrives in Jordan


The President of the Republic, Abdul Latif Jamal Rashid, arrived today, Monday, in the capital, Amman, on an official visit to the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan, and was received by King Abdullah II.

A presidential statement said that a solemn reception ceremony was held for the President, which included the playing of the national anthems of the Republic of Iraq and the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan, and a review of the honor guard.

Participating in receiving the president were Jordanian Prime Minister Bisher Al-Khasawneh, Jaafar Hassan, Director of the King’s Office, and Minister of Industry, Trade and Supply Youssef Al-Shamali, in addition to a number of Jordanian officials.

A round of bilateral and expanded discussions between the two sides is scheduled to begin at Basman Palace.

The President of the Republic is accompanied by a government delegation that includes the Minister of Industry and Minerals, Khaled Battal, and a member of the House of Representatives, Talib Khalil Rahi, in addition to a number
of officials and advisors
