Azzam al-Ahmad, member of the Executive Committee of the Palestine Liberation Organization and Fatah Central Committee, today said that a tripartite Palestinian-Egyptian-Jordanian summit is expected to be held soon, likely in Cairo, to coordinate positions ahead of President Mahmoud Abbas’s trip to the United Nations.
He told Palestine TV that the US administration under Joe Biden is required to exert real pressure on Israel, whose prime minister has declared before his trip to Washington that he does not agree to the creation of a Palestinian state and that he will continue with settlements construction.
President Abbas is expected to address the UN General Assembly in September.
