Weather: A drop in temperature as a low-pressure front affects the country bringing rain and thunderstorms

A low-pressure cold front will affect Palestine today bringing a significant drop in temperature, very cold conditions, rain and thunderstorms in most areas of Palestine, and possibly hail mainly in the northern and central parts, according to the Palestinian Meteorological Department (PMD).

Winds are southwesterly to westerly, active and strong at times with gusts reaching 70 kilometers per hour, and sea waves are medium to high.

Temperature in the capital, Jerusalem, and Bethlehem is expected to reach a high of 9°C and a low of 6°C, and in Ramallah and Hebron a high of 8°C and a low of 5°C are expected. In Jericho, the Dead Sea, and the Jordan Valley temperature is expected to reach a high of 18°C and a low of 11°C, while it is expected to reach a high of 14°C and a low of 11°C in Gaza and the coastal areas.

Rain and thunderstorms are also expected to continue tomorrow, Wednesday, as the low-pressure front is expected to continue to affect the country.

However, the low pressure is expected to decline on Thursday but the cold conditions and chance of rain continue mainly in the northern and central areas of Palestine.

Chance of rain is expected also on Friday, said the PMD, which warned of flood formation in low areas and valleys, mainly in the Jordan Valley, high winds, slippery roads, and low horizontal visibility.
