Syria strongly condemns terrorist attack against Iraqi Premier

Damascus, Syrian Arab Republic strongly condemned the terrorist attack that targeted Iraqi Premier Mustafa al-Kadhimi.

A Foreign and Expatriates Ministry official source said Sunday that Syria strongly condemns the terrorist attack that targeted Iraqi Prime Minister Mustafa al-Kadhimi.

The source added that Syria renews its stance against terrorism, and hopes peace, stability, and prosperity would prevail in Iraq.

Iraq’s Prime Minister survived an assassination attempt with three armed drones early Sunday, as the Iraqi Security Forces were able to downed two of them.

A child martyred in blast of landmine left behind by terrorists in Suran town, Hama countryside

Hama, A child was martyred on Sunday in a blast of landmine left behind by terrorist organizations in the vicinity of Suran town, Hama northern countryside.

A Police source told SANA reporter that a landmine left behind by terrorist organizations went off on Sunday evening in the vicinity of Suran town in Hama northern countryside, claiming the life of a 5- year old child.

Fifteen detainees in Daraa released in light of settlement process

Daraa, 15 detainees from the locals of Daraa province, who were not involved in crimes against Syrian people, were released on Sunday at the hall of the government complex in Daraa, in the framework of the settlement agreement proposed by the State to consolidate security and stability all over the province.

Daraa Governor, Marwan Sharbak, said that new batches of detainees will be released in the coming days.

A source in the province added that stability in the Daraa has positively affected the situation that pushed to release more detainees.

200 new coronavirus infections, 7 deaths reported in Syria

Damascu8s, 200 new coronavirus cases, 93 recoveries and 7 deaths were reported in Syria on Saturday, according to the Health Ministry.

A statement by the ministry showed the total number of the recorded coronavirus cases in Syria has reached up to 44,899 till now, of which 26,932 have recovered, while 2,613 others have passed away.

The first coronavirus case was detected in Syria on March 22nd last year in a person who came from abroad, while the first fatality was registered on the 29th of the same month.
