Syria reaffirms its principled, firm stance in support of Palestinian people

Syria reaffirmed its principled and firm stance in support of the right of the Palestinian people to self-determination and the establishment of their independent state on all their national soil with Jerusalem as its capital according to General Assembly Resolution No.194 for 1948 as an imprescriptible and inalienable right based on international law, United Nations resolutions and all relevant international charters.

Foreign and Expatriates Minister Faisal Mikdad addressed a message to Chairman of the Committee on the Exercise of the Inalienable Rights of the Palestinian People at the United Nations (CEIRPP), Ambassador Cheikh Niang, on the occasion of the International Day of Solidarity with the Palestinian People.

“This day has become a solid global platform that keeps the Palestinian cause alive , particularly with the continued dangers that still pose threat to the Palestinian cause,” Mikdad said in the message, adding that no progress has been made until today by the international community to put an end to the Israeli occupation of the Arab lands.

He stressed Syria’s firm stance in rejecting and condemning the Israeli occupation of Arab lands, the war crimes and crimes against humanity committed by Israel, the occupying power in the Palestinian territories, and Syria’s rejection of any decisions or measures that do not comply with the UN relevant resolutions.

Mikdad: Syria has given lessons in repelling projects that targeted its stability

Foreign and Expatriates’ Minister, Faysal Mikdad, said that the achievements fulfilled by the Syrian Arab army and the victory recorded by the Syrian people foiled schemes that have been prepared against Syria.

Mikdad added in an interview with SAMA TV broadcast on Monday that Syria has given lessons in repelling the projects that targeted its stability and territorial integrity.

He added “All foreign ministers and officials I have met, stressed the important role of Syria in the region and the need for its return to play this role.”

“Stances of a lot of countries towards Syria have become more positive and showed willingness to have relations with Syria despite pressures being practiced on some of them and there are stances that seek to find solutions to the situation in Syria ,” Mikdad said.

He affirmed that Syria seeks to achieve a political solution that respects its sovereignty and territorial integrity, calling on the other sides to represent Syria’s interests in finding a solution that ensures a strong and capable country.

Syrian, Iranian talks to boost cooperation in petroleum field

Minister of Petroleum and Mineral Resources, Bassam Tomeh discussed with Minister of Industry, Mines and Trade of the Islamic Republic of Iran, Seyed Reza Fatemi Amin and an accompanying delegation cooperation between the two sides in the fields of oil, gas and mineral resources and the need to upgrade and develop them on all levels.

The two sides discussed ways to develop and enhance cooperation in the fields of oil, gas and mineral wealth, particularly cooperation in the field of converting cars to work on natural gas (CNG) and securing the oil sector’s needs of chemicals and oil equipment, as well as enhancing cooperation in the fields of geology and mineral resources through activating the memorandum of understanding that was signed between the General Institute of Geology and the Iranian Geological Institute.

Minister Tomeh pointed out that there are many memoranda of understanding and agreements between the two countries in the field of the work of the Ministry of Oil, which have entered into force and are being followed up, noting that the ideas that were put forward could be the nucleus of broader cooperation that promote the oil industry in the interest of both sides.

In turn, the Iranian minister expressed his country’s keenness to strengthen relations with Syria in all fields, especially the oil, gas and mineral resources sectors, to serve common interests, stressing that the Islamic Republic of Iran will spare no effort to move forward with everything that supports the Syrian people.

Syrian-Iranian talks to boost cooperation in foodstuffs exchange

Minister of Internal Trade and Consumer Protection, Amro Salem discussed with Iranian Minister of Industry, Mines and Trade, Seyyed Reza Fatemi Amin and an accompanying delegation means of enhancing trade relations between the two countries and developing joint economic cooperation to serve the interests of the two peoples.

The two sides discussed issues related to specifying the foodstuffs and commodities required in the Syrian and Iranian markets and the possibility of trade exchange in a way that creates a balance between the importer and the exporter in both countries in addition to establishing joint projects and exchanging experiences.

Minister Salem affirmed in a press statement after the meeting that there is a common desire between the two countries to cooperate in the fields of foodstuffs, agricultural investment, manufacturing and the exchange of goods that serve the Syrian and Iranian markets.

In turn, the Iranian minister pointed out to the importance of upgrading trade and economic relations to the level of historical relations between the two countries to serve the interests of the two peoples, stressing his country’s readiness to support the Syrian people in all circumstances.

Six students injured in explosion during experiment at the Faculty of Science

Six students from faculty of Science at Damascus University were injured in an explosion of a glass flask while conducting a practical experiment in the chemistry laboratory for second-year students.

Head of Mowasat Hospital , Isaam Zakarya al-Amin said that six students were rushed to the hospital , three of them had minor injuries ,as they were treated and discharged , while the situation of the three other students is being monitored ,as they underwent eye surgeries.

One citizen martyred in brutal assault by Turkish occupation soldiers, Hasaka countryside

One citizen was martyred as the Turkish occupation forces’ soldiers assaulted him brutally and deliberately in the vicinity of al-Arada village, Hasaka northern countryside.

The soldiers of the Turkish regime’s border guards beat a citizen brutally in the vicinity of al-Arada village, north of Abu Rasin, near the Turkish borders, which caused his death, local sources told SANA reporter.

The sources added that this new crime by Turkish occupation came as a part of its criminal acts with its mercenaries, aimed at displacing the locals from their areas in order to bring the terrorists’ families and residing them there, and forcing a demographic change that would serve its ambitions in the region.

Two children martyred in bomb explosion, Aleppo countryside

Two children were martyred in bomb explosion in al-Halwanji village, Aleppo northern countryside occupied by the Turkish occupation and its terrorist mercenaries.

A bomb went off near one of the occupations’ positions in al-Halwanji village, Jarablus city in the far northern countryside, which caused the martyrdom of two children, local sources told SANA.

On Saturday, two women and two children were martyred and others wounded, when a car bomb exploded in Manbej city in Aleppo northern countryside, where US occupation-backed QSD militia forces are deployed.

With participation of Syria, an extra-ordinary session of the World Health Assembly starts activities

With the participation of Syria, a 3-day special session of the World Health Assembly, which is held in Geneva, began its activities on Monday.

Syria, represented by a delegation headed by Minister of Health Hassan al-Ghabash participate in the meeting virtually, while deputy chairman of the delegation, Syria’s Permanent Representative to the United Nations in Geneva, Ambassador Hossam El-Din Ala, attends in Geneva.

The special session will discuss several issues, including considering developing a WHO convention, agreement or other international instrument on pandemic preparedness and response.
