هدمت سلطات الاحتلال الإسرائيلية، اليوم الثلاثاء، مركزًا صحيًا ومنزلًا بالإضافة إلى عدة منشآت وتجريف أراض، بمدينة القدس المحتلة.

وذكرت مصادر محلية، بأن آليات تابعة لبلدية الاحتلال، يرافقها عناصر من الشرطة، اقتحمت بلدة “جبل المكبر” جنوبي شرق القدس، خلال ساعات الصباح الباكر.

وأضاف أن قوات الاحتلال طوّقت مركز “عبدالله الشيخ” الصحي وقامت بهدمه.

كما شرعت آليات الاحتلال، صباح اليوم، بهدم منزل عائلة الرجبي في “بيت حنينا” (شمالي القدس)، والمكوّن من طابقين.

إلا أن سلطات الاحتلال، وبعد هدمها للطابق العلوي، توقفت عن هدم منزل المقدسي صهيب الرجبي، وذلك بعد ورود قرار من المحكمة بوقف الهدم.

وأسفرت عملية الهدم الجزئي، إلى خراب كبير طال كامل المنزل، الذي لم يعد صالحا للسكن.

وفي بلدة “الزعيم” شرقي القدس، اقتحمت قوات الاحتلال برفقة الآليات البلدة وشرعت بتجريف الأراضي عند مدخلها.

وأشارت مصادر محلية، إلى أن آليات الاحتلال هدمت بركسًا (منشأة من الصفيح) وجرّفت أرضًا تعود للمقدسي عبد أبو ارميلة في بلدة الزعيم.

وفي بلدة “العيسوية” شمالي القدس، اقتحمت قوات كبيرة من شرطة الاحتلال، البلدة، وشرعت بهدم غرف تعود للمزارعين، وتجريف أراض زراعية شرقية البلدة.

يشار إلى أن الاحتلال الإسرائيلي، كثّف من نشاطاته الاستيطانية، من خلال تصعيد عمليات هدم المنازل الفلسطينية، والتي طالعت 157 منزلا في عام 2021، بزعم “البناء غير المرخص”.

وتتشدد بلدية الاحتلال بالقدس، في إصدار تراخيص البناء للفلسطينيين، كما تمنع البناء أو استصلاح الأراضي في المناطق الخاضعة لسيطرتها بالضفة الغربية المحتلة بما فيها ضواحي القدس.

The European Union yesterday said it was seriously concerned about the health condition of Palestinian hunger striker Hisham Abu Hawash, 40, who has been on an extended hunger strike for 141 days to protest his administrative detention in an Israeli prison since October 2020.

“The use of administrative detention without formal charge remains a longstanding concern,” said the EU in a tweet. “Detainees have the right to be informed about charges underlying any detention, must be given a fair trial within a reasonable time or be released.”

The EU stressed that a solution for Abu Hawash’s long incarceration without charge or trial “should be found immediately.”

Rights groups are concerned that Abu Hawash, from the southern West Bank town of Dura who is married with five children, may die at any time due to the long hunger strike that has incapacitated him.

Seven people have died of coronavirus in Palestine in the last 24 hours and 324 new cases were recorded, today said the Ministry of Health.

It said in its daily report on the pandemic in Palestine that five of the deaths were recorded in the West Bank where 221 new cases were confirmed and 128 patients have recovered.

The Gaza Strip recorded two deaths, 103 new cases, and 130 recoveries.

The ministry said 58 corona patients are currently in intensive care and 15 are on ventilators, while 103 are getting treatment in hospitals and corona centers.

The Israeli municipality of West Jerusalem today demolished sections of two Palestinian-owned buildings in the occupied eastern part of the city, one of them a health center, under the pretext of construction without a permit, reported WAFA correspondent.

She said that municipality bulldozers proceeded to demolish the health center in Jabal al-Mukabber neighborhood after the police have cordoned off the area.

According to Ghassan Jalajel, director of the health center, the demolition was unexpected and involved only half of the area of the center, or about 80 square meters, despite the fact that an appeal was submitted to the Israeli courts against the demolition order.

He said the municipality did not wait to hear the court’s response to the appeal and sent it crews without notice to demolish a section of it.

The center, said Jalajel, serves more than 20,000 people who live in Jabal al-Mukabber.

Meanwhile, in the northern Jerusalem neighborhood of Beit Hanina, a municipality bulldozer proceeded this morning to demolish a Palestinian-owned residential building, also under the pretext of construction without order.

However, after demolishing the top part of the two-story building, the municipality called off the demolition after the owners of the building were able to obtain a court injunction stopping the demolition.

Palestinian officials today urged international organizations to secure the release from Israeli prisons of administrative detainee Hisham Abu Hawash, 40, who has been on hunger strike for 141 days in a row demanding an end to his illegal incarceration.

Speaking on the official Voice of Palestine radio, Justice Minister Mohammad Shalaldeh called on the International Committee of the Red Cross and the Prosecutor of the International Criminal Court, Karim Khan, “to shoulder their legal and moral responsibility by overseeing the implementation of special rules to protect the rights of prisoners from serious violations to which they are subjected, especially the prisoner Hisham Abu Hawash.

” Abu Hawash, he said, “is subjected to inhumane, immoral and illegal practices by the Israeli occupation authorities, which calls for immediate action to save his life by the international and human rights organizations.”

International humanitarian law criminalizes serious violations against prisoners, said the Justice Minister, adding that the occupation authorities implement a policy of administrative detention and punishment without charge and trial, and therefore, based on the political order and the International Criminal Court, these violations are considered a war crime according to article 85 of Protocol I of 1977.

Palestine’s ambassador to the United Nations in Geneva, Ibrahim Khreisheh, also told Voice of Palestine that efforts are continuing to pressure Israel to cancel the administrative detention of Abu Hawash in light of the very critical deterioration on his health.

He said that the UN’s Human Rights Council fact-finding committee has been informed of the violations suffered by the prisoners and that the commission intends to visit the West Bank and Gaza in the next two months to meet individuals who were tortured by the Israeli authorities as well as official parties and civil society representative to hear their side of the story.

Israeli bulldozers today demolished a number of structures in Khirbet Ibziq community in the Jordan Valley, north of the occupied West Bank city of Tubas, the second such demolitions in one week, according to a local source.

Aref Daraghmeh, an activist, told WAFA that the Israeli forces demolished residential tents, shelters for livestock, and other structures owned by two local residents.

To be noted, Israeli forces demolished last week residential structures and barns belonging to the same family in an attempt to force the Palestinian families to leave their lands for the benefit of Israeli settlements.

The State of Palestine holds Israel, the occupying Power, fully responsible for the life and well-being of Palestinian detainee Hisham Abu-Hawash, who has been on a hunger strike for over 140 days protesting his unlawful administrative arbitrary detention and the denial of his fundamental rights and freedom.

As he now battles for his very survival, Hisham must receive the protection and safeguards to which he is entitled, including his right to freedom from persecution, according to a statement by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates.

“The State of Palestine calls for immediate intervention by the international community and international organizations, including, the ICRC and the High Contracting Parties to the Geneva Conventions, to fulfill their obligations and ensure Hisham’s protection and freedom. The State of Palestine further reiterates its demand for the release of Hisham and all Palestinian detainees,” it said.

“The occupying power employs mass incarceration as well as the weaponized and illegal use of administrative arbitrary detention as tools of persecution against the Palestinian people, including minors.

“To that end, the occupying power employs its discriminatory military courts as a brutally effective tool of persecution. These ‘courts’ are widely recognized as a stain on the principle of justice as they do not meet any standards of fairness or due process,” said the Foreign Ministry.

“Israel’s military court system is illegal and inhumane by definition and must be dismantled,” it concluded.
