Abu Rudeineh: Jenin massacre a ‘dangerous escalation’

RAMALLAH: The Palestinian presidency condemned the escalating Israeli massacres against Palestinian people in the Gaza Strip and the West Bank, the most recent of which was the storming of the city of Jenin and its camp, which led to the killing of 12 Palestinians and injured dozens others.

Presidential spokesman Nabil Abu Rudeineh said that the Israeli occupation authorities continue their bloody aggression and massacres against Palestinian people, their land, and their sanctities, in an attempt to detonate the situation and drag the region into the area of killing and destruction, to implement its plans for annexation, displacement, and annihilation of the Palestinian people.

He added that these aggressive policies that make permissible to shed Palestinian blood will not succeed in bringing the Palestinian people to their knees and subjugating them, adding that they will remain steadfast on their land and will not leave it, no matter the cost or sacrifices.

Abu Rudeineh noted that the US administration b
ears the consequences of this ongoing aggression, and must intervene immediately to stop this Israeli madness, which Netanyahu explicitly expressed when he indicated a strong Israeli desire to ignite the West Bank, including East Jerusalem.

He said that the US position, which declared its refusal to reoccupy Gaza or cut off part of it, and its rejection of settler violence or the Israeli escalation in the West Bank, is at stake, as the US is the only one capable of obliging Israel to stop the aggression and prevent the region from being drawn into wars that will never end, stressing that this escalation is an Israeli message based on US President Joe Biden’s speech and on the eve of the US National Security Advisor’s visit to the region.
