The Head of the National Committee for Prisoners’ Affairs, Abd al-Qader al-Murtada, discussed today with the UN envoy to Yemen, Hans Grundberg, and his deputy, Moeen Shrim, ways to advance the prisoners’ issue, especially what was recently agreed upon in Switzerland.
Al-Murtada confirmed in his tweet on “Twitter” the full committee’s readiness to implement the visits to prisons that were agreed upon with the Marib party, stressing the importance of carrying out these visits as a first step paving the way for the implementation of the remainder of the March 2022 agreement.
“We also informed them of our full readiness to participate in the next round of negotiations that were set by them in mid-May, to be held after the completion of prison visits,” he said.
