Around 200,000 Muslims attend night, Taraweeh prayers at Jerusalem’s al-Aqsa mosque on last Friday of Ramadan

On the last Friday of the holy month of Ramadan, around 200,000 Muslims performed the Isha (night prayer) and Taraweeh prayers at Jerusalem’s Al-Aqsa Mosque in occupied Jerusalem, said the Islamic Waqf (Endowment) Department. The waqf department said that an estimated 200,000 worshipers held the night and Taraweeh prayers at the blessed al-Aqsa mosque despite tight restrictions imposed by the Israeli police on the entry of worshipers. An estimated 250,000 thousand worshipers performed the last Friday of Ramadan noon prayer at the mosque today. Thousands stayed behind tonight to celebrate Lailat Al-Qadr, Islam’s holiest night that marks the night the Quran was revealed to Prophet Muhammad, which falls within the last ten nights of Ramadan.
