Decrease by over 8.5% in the industrial production index in Palestine during January – PCBS

The overall Industrial Production Index (IPI) in Palestine decreased by 8.58% in January compared to the previous month, December, today said the Palestinian Central Bureau of Statistics (PCBS).

IPI for January decreased due to the decrease in the activities of the manufacturing industry by 10.95%, which had a share of 87.89% of the total industry, and the activities of mining and quarrying by 3.67%, which had a share of 2.89% of the total industry.

Meanwhile, the activities of water supply, sewerage, waste management, and remediation increased by 13.12%, which had a share of 1.84% of the total industry, and the activities of electricity, gas, steam, and air conditioning supply increased by 9.17%, which had a share of 7.38% of the total industry, said the PCBS.
