Deputizing for King…Prince Mired attends opening of Special Olympics World Games Berlin 2023

Deputizing for His Majesty King Abdullah II, His Highness Prince Mired bin Raad bin Zaid, Chief Chamberlain, participated on Saturday evening in the opening ceremony of Special Olympics World Games 2023, which are being hosted by the German capital, Berlin. The tournament, which will last until June 26, will witness participation of more than 7,000 players representing 178 countries from different countries across the world, and will compete in 24 Olympic sports. Jordan’s players compete in 7 sports, mainly athletics, roller skating, bocce, weightlifting, bowling, badminton and swimming. On the tournament’s sidelines, His Highness, as President of Higher Council for the Rights of Persons with Disabilities (HCD), participated in activities of Global Forum for Inclusion for Persons with Disabilities in Berlin. Prince Mired’s participation in the conference focused on Jordan’s key achievements in the field of the rights of persons with disabilities, and future plans, which His Majesty attaches great attention and reflects Jordan’s excellence in this field, according to a HCD statement.
