GCC chief underlines importance of supporting efforts to restore stability in Yemen

GCC Secretary General Jassem Al-Bedaiwi emphasized on the need on Tuesday to continue efforts and find a political solution to conflict in Yemen, including support efforts exerted by the Yemeni people towards drawing a map for their own future and to restore stability and development in their country.

In a press release by the GCC general secretariat, Al-Bedaiwi also stressed on pushing forward for a peaceful solution, ending the conflict in Yemen, and finding a strong ground for launching the political track among all Yemeni parties involved.

The statement referred to the GCC’s firm position on supporting legitimacy in Yemen and ending its crisis by reaching a political solution in accordance with the three references represented by the Gulf initiative and its implementation mechanism, the outcomes of the comprehensive National Dialogue Conference, and UN Security Council Resolution (2216).

Al-Bedaiwi, according to the statement, praised the great efforts made by the Saudi Program for the Development and Reconstruction of Yemen through the implementation of a number of development and economic projects within the Yemeni governorates in order to achieve the aspirations of the Yemeni people.
