Israeli settlers rampage through Nablus-Ramallah road

Dozens of army-guarded Israeli settlers rampaged last night through Nablus-Ramallah road in the occupied West Bank at the entrance to the town of Turmus Ayya, to the north of Ramallah, according to local sources. Lafi Shalabi, the mayor of the town, told WAFA that dozens of settlers from the colonial Israeli settlements of Eli and Shilo, illegally built on Palestinian lands near the town, briefly blocked the main Nablus-Ramallah road, also known as Route 60, outside the town, forcing Palestinian vehicles to use longer alternative roads. Settler violence is commonplace across the occupied West Bank, and is increasingly gaining support from the far-right Israeli government.
