Meetings headed by Dr. Abu Lahoum discuss implementation of initiative projects in Saada

Meetings held in Saada Governorate, headed by the Deputy Prime Minister of the Caretaker Government and Minister of Finance, Dr. Rashid Abu Lahoum, discussed the level of completion of community initiative projects in the areas of water barriers, paving, surveying and construction of roads in a number of the governorate’s directorates.

The meetings, which included the Governor of Saada, Muhammad Awad, the Deputy Minister of Local Administration, Dr. Qasim Al-Hamran, the Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Road Maintenance Fund, Nabil Al-Haifi, the Secretary-General of the Local Council, Muhammad Al-Imad, the Undersecretary of the Ministry of Finance, Kamal Khaled, the directors of directorates and service offices, and the leaders of the local authority, reviewed those 49 projects.

In the agricultural field, it includes dams and water barriers, and 35 initiatives in the field of roads, including 28 road surveying and paving initiatives and five construction initiatives.

The projects are implemented i
n partnership between the community and the Central Emergency Development Interventions Unit at the Ministry of Finance in the districts of Baqim, Qatabr, Majz, Al-Hashwah, Kataf, Al-Safra, and Al-Salem.

The meetings approved the development of work matrices to complete the projects, and the purchase of equipment for a number of directorates, with contributions between the community, the intervention unit, and the local authority.

It also approved the formation of a joint team between the Central Intervention Unit and the governorate, under the supervision of the Deputy Minister of Local Administration, to follow up on the implementation of the initiatives and resolve any problems that may arise during the work.

The meetings appreciated the community’s efforts and its effective initiative despite the deprivation and aggression it has been exposed to for decades, stressing the keenness to support all initiatives, focus on the most deprived areas, and approve and implement projects that directly affect the l
ives of citizens.
