Ministry of Industry launches price control campaign

The Ministry of Industry and Trade launched on Monday a field campaign to monitor the price and supply conditions and review the level of performance of the field monitoring teams on the markets.

During the launch of the campaign in cooperation with the Chamber of Commerce and Industry in Amanat Al-Asimah, the Undersecretary for Internal Trade Mohammed Qatran was briefed on the progress of monitoring carried out by the ministry’s field teams and its office in Sana’a on markets during the month of Ramadan.

Agent Qatran pointed out that the campaign comes in implementation of the outputs of the meeting of the Minister of Industry in the caretaker government, Muhammad Al-Mutahhar, with the leaders of the General Federation of Chambers of Commerce and Industry and Chambers of Commerce and Industry in the municipality and the governorates, and in addition to the directive of Marshal Mahdi Al-Mashat, Chairman of the Supreme Political Council, to coordinate between the ministry and the chambers of commerce to cont
rol prices in a way that protects consumers and traders.

The Undersecretary of the Ministry of Industry praised the level of implementation of field control plans on the markets through the level of commitment to price lists as well as supply stability. He pointed out that the ministry and its offices carry out daily monitoring operations on markets as part of the ministry’s plans to maintain price and supply stability and protect consumers from exploitation and fraud, especially in consumer seasons.

He stressed that the ministry is in continuous coordination with the private sector on providing suitable options for citizens of consumer goods at reasonable prices. He pointed out that the large supply of various goods confirms the success of the ministry’s plans, in cooperation with producers and importers, in providing alternatives to goods covered by the decisions to boycott American goods and the products of companies supporting the Zionist entity.

The Undersecretary reiterated that the boycott decisions
did not affect local markets thanks to the concerted and integrated efforts of the ministry with the private sector.
