Palestine logs 575 COVID cases, four deaths

Minister of Health Mai Alkaila said today that 575 new cases of COVID-19, four deaths and 1,659 recoveries were registered in Palestine during the last 24 hours.

In her daily report on the coronavirus pandemic, Alkaila said two deaths from COVID-19 were registered in the West Bank, while only one death was recorded in Gaza. East Jerusalem also recorded one death from COVID.

A total of 2,070 COVID-19 tests were conducted during the reporting period, with the exclusion of East Jerusalem. In the Gaza Strip, 197 coronavirus tests came out positive, while the West Bank had 128 new cases. East Jerusalem had 250 new cases.

The Health Minister said that in the West Bank, 108 patients of COVID-19 are currently hospitalized, of whom 73 are in intensive care, including 26 on ventilators.

She pointed out that the recovery rate in Palestine has so far reached 97.7 percent, while active cases declined to 1.4 percent. Deaths stood at 0.9 percent of total infections.
