Palestinians demonstrate outside Damon Prison in support of Palestinian women prisoners

A group of Palestinian activists held a protest today outside the Israeli prison of Damon, near Haifa, in support of 32 Palestinian women incarcerated in the prison.

Activists from the ‘Action for Female Palestinian Prisoners’ group held a vigil outside the Israeli prison and waved banners calling for the immediate release of the 32 Palestinian women incarcerated there, including 10 mothers.

The protest is an effort to highlight the issue of the Palestinian female prisoners in Israeli detention who are deprived of their right to unite with their families as a result of imprisonment by the Israeli occupation authorities.

There are more than 4,500 Palestinian prisoners in Israeli jails, of whom nearly 500 are held without charge or trial under Israel’s controversial administrative detention policy.
