PM stresses importance of benefiting from outputs of scientific conferences

Prime Minister Dr. Abdulaziz Saleh bin Habtoor stressed the importance of benefiting from the outputs of the research and scientific activities of Yemeni universities for the benefit of the development process.

This came during his meeting on Saturday with the Deputy Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research, Dr. Ali Sharaf Al-Din, who briefed him on the results of the conference “Yemeni Islands – Strategic Importance, Environmental Diversity and External Ambitions”, which was held at the University of Hodeidah on Wednesday and Thursday, with local and Arab participation.

Sharaf Al-Din explained that the number of papers discussed at the conference amounted to 67 papers from Yemeni and Arab researchers, specifically from Tunisia, Morocco, Egypt and Iraq.

He pointed to the most important recommendations that came out of the conference, including emphasizing the importance of Yemen’s role in preserving the security and safety of the Red Sea, as well as its right to defend its security and sovereignty, and to confront external ambitions that target its islands, coasts and ports.

The meeting, which was attended by the Director of the Prime Minister’s Office, Taha Al-Sufyani, touched on the activity of the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research and its supervisory arrangements related to the next academic year.
