Presidency urges international protection of Palestinians amid increase in settler violence

The Presidency has held the Israeli government responsible for an increase in terrorist attacks by Israeli settlers against defenseless Palestinian communities across the occupied West Bank, especially in the village of Burqa, demanding the international community to take action.

In a press statement, the Presidency urged the international community, especially the UN Security Council, to urgently intervene to provide international protection for the Palestinian people, adding that Israel cannot continue to act as a state above the law.

The Presidency stressed the need to work to press the Israeli government to stop settlement construction and curb settler attacks, which it said mainly aim to thwart US and international efforts aimed at reviving the political process.
