Samsung to Launch New Update for its Mid-Range Smartphones

Seoul, Samsung intends to launch the One UI 6.1 update for its mid-range smartphones, as the expected update will be released for the Galaxy A53 and S21 FE phones during the second half of this month.

The update will reach more mid-range and economic Samsung phones, with priority given to the newest versions. The company previously stated that the One UI 6.1 update, which includes many artificial intelligence (AI) features, will reach more than 100 million devices in 2024, the company said in a statement.

Samsung recently launched this update to its Galaxy S21, S22, and S23 phones, in addition to the 3rd, 4th, and 5th generation of its foldable phones, and the Galaxy Tab S9 versions of its tablets.

Although Samsung will make the One UI 6.1 update available to mid-range phones, it is unlikely that these phones will get advanced AI features. Rather, Samsung may ony provide limited features, such as the “Circle to Search” feature, as these features require high specifications in order to work efficiently.

T
he One UI 6.1 update is not limited to AI features only, but also offers other improvements and additions, such as custom stickers and improvements to the Gallery application and Video Player. The update also includes the new Quick Share feature, the Samsung Find application, and Auracast Bluetooth technology.

The update also improves Samsung’s cloud, health, and wallet services, and adds new features, such as quick access to video call effects and voice input without leaving the keyboard, improvements to weather and battery options, and more.
