Minister of Justice Khaled Shawani affirmed that approving the financial budget will have a positive impact on the implementation of the Ministry of Justice’s programs in accordance with the ministerial curriculum.
Shawani said during his meeting with the Australian Ambassador to Iraq, Paula Ganley, and her accompanying delegation. The approval of the draft federal budget law for the Republic of Iraq in the House of Representatives will have a positive impact on the implementation of the programs of the Ministry of Justice in accordance with the ministerial curriculum, especially with regard to building justice complexes and correctional prisons, which will address the file of overcrowding in correctional departments in accordance with international human rights standards.
For her part, the Australian Ambassador expressed the Australian government’s support for the government program, expressing her country’s readiness for joint cooperation and coordination in the legal fields between the two countries.
A statement by the Ministry of Justice said that the two sides discussed cooperation and coordination at all levels, including the exchange of expertise in the legal and justice fields between the two countries.
