UNRWA: Two children died due to the heat in Gaza

The United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees (UNRWA) announced that it had received reports of the death of at least two children due to the heat wave in the Gaza Strip.

This came in a statement on her account on the ‘X’ platform, today, Sunday, regarding the deteriorating humanitarian situation in Gaza in light of the Israeli attacks.

The agency pointed out that children are paying the highest price and called for an immediate ceasefire.

The statement confirmed that the displaced in Gaza receive only one liter of water per day on average, which is much less than the daily minimum of 15 liters according to international standards.

The statement stressed that the humanitarian conditions in Gaza are getting worse due to rising temperatures.

UNRWA Commissioner-General Philippe Lazzarini asked: ‘What more must be endured? Death, hunger, disease, displacement, and now living in greenhouse-like buildings under scorching heat
