Youth injured by Israeli gunfire at entrance to Al-Bireh

AL-BIREH– A Palestinian young man was injured by Israeli gunfire today during confrontations with the Israeli occupation forces at the northern entrance to the city of Al-Bireh in the occupied West Bank, according to WAFA correspondent.

He said scores of students of Birzeit University were demonstrating at the entrance to Al-Bireh against the killing of Amer Halabiya, 20, a colleague of theirs, by Israeli occupation forces two days ago in occupied Jerusalem.

Israeli soldiers stationed in the area, added the correspondent, fired rubber-coated rounds and teargas canisters at the protesters to disperse them, injuring one student and causing cases of suffocation from gas inhalation.
