Meteorology: Variable rainfall, fog and hot weather


The National Center of Meteorology and Early Warning expects varying thunderstorms to fall in a number of provinces, fog formation, and hot weather during the next 24 hours.

According to the weather forecast issued by the centre, a copy of which was received by the Yemeni News Agency (Saba), thunderstorms of varying intensity are expected in parts of Sa’ada, Hajjah, Al Mahwit, Amran, Sana’a, Dhamar, Raymah, Ibb, Taiz and Lahj provinces.

It reported that scattered rain fell during the past 24 hours on parts of Sa’ada, West Al-Jawf, Amran, Sana’a, Dhamar, Ibb, Al-Bayda and North Al-Dhale’, and were outside the range of weather monitoring stations.

The Center warned citizens in areas where rain is expected to fall in the depths of valleys and flood paths during and after the rain, and vehicle drivers on mountain roads against reduced horizontal visibility due to rain or low clouds and the formation of fog, and advised against crossing ground bridges during the flow of torrential rain.

He warned citizens of
the hot weather in the deserts and coastal plains of Tihama.
