QC Participates in 2nd Conference of Chambers of Commerce of ACD Member States


Doha: The Qatar Chamber (QC) participated in the second Conference of the Chambers of Commerce of the Asia Cooperation Dialogue (ACD) Member States which kicked off on Tuesday in Esfahan, the Islamic Republic of Iran.

The Chamber’s delegation included QC Board Members Abdulla bin Mohamed Al Emadi and Mohamed bin Ahmed Al Obaidli.

Speaking in the inaugural session, Mohamed Al Obaidli said that the State of Qatar and ACD countries enjoyed close relations in all fields, especially in the economic and commercial spheres.

He noted that Qatari-Asian relations have flourished in recent years thanks to a mutual interest in developing cooperation across various fields, the exchange of high-level visits, and the expansion in economic and investment projects, in addition to the cooperation at the private sector level.

He highlighted the State of Qatar’s commitment to strengthening economic and commercial cooperation with all ACD countries, emphasizing the consistent growth in trade exchange between them and the pres
ence of numerous successful investments across various sectors in ACD nations. Additionally, he noted that there are many Asian investments in Qatar across different sectors.

Al Obaidli cited Qatar’s hosting of the 2019 ACD Business Forum, which focused on the vital role of SMEs in driving the sustainable economy, underscoring the private sector’s role in achieving the ACDs objectives.

He also stressed the conference’s importance in enhancing cooperation among chambers of commerce and private sector in member states, in a way that expands regional trade and mutual investment. He emphasized that the Chamber welcomes the cooperation with all chambers in ACD member countries, calling on ACD investors to invest in Qatar which offers a world-class infrastructure and leading economic legislation.
