Settlers attack Palestinian vehicles at entrance to Al-Bireh

Rampaging Israeli settlers attacked passing Palestinian vehicles this evening near the northern entrance of Al-Bireh city, in the middle of the occupied West Bank, causing damage to some of them but no injuries, according to local sources. Dozens of army-guarded settlers gathered near the military checkpoint at the northern entrance to the city, as well as near the village of Beitin to the northeast of the city, and pelted Palestinian vehicles with stones, resulting in damage to several vehicles. No injuries were reported. The latest attack is yet another example of the ongoing suffering faced by Palestinians living under Israeli settler occupation in the West Bank. The incident comes in the wake of a series of similar attacks by settlers on Palestinian property and individuals. International human rights organizations and observers have criticized the Israeli occupation authorities for failing to curb settler violence and for not holding settlers accountable for their actions.
