Moscow demands Washington streamline grain deal, Russia’s food export

Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov talked Friday about the “importance” of Washington facilitating the implementation of the Istanbul agreement for the export of grain and Russian agricultural products. Peskov told a press conference: “Security is provided as part of the grain deal. If the United States wants to help, it must ensure the implementation of the Russian part of the grain deal and implementation instead of issuing promises.” Moscow suspended its participation in the deal in protest at the failure to implement the part related to the export of its agricultural products and prevented the export of Ukrainian grain across the Black Sea.

Field visit to inspect conditions of irrigation facilities in valleys of Tihama coast

The leadership of the General Authority for the Development of Tihama in Al Al-Hodeida province carried out a field visit to inspect conditions of irrigation sources and facilities in a number of valleys of Tihama coast, in preparation for the rainy season.

The head of the commission, Ali Hazaa, was briefed on the entrance to Al-Zaran Canal in Zabid district and its role in diverting water from the course of Wadi Rimaa to agricultural lands, which have an area of more than six thousand square meters.

Hazaa directed officials of the southern agricultural region and maintenance specialists to make an integrated plan for the maintenance of the diversion barrier and the main channel.

He also directed a plan to distribute flood water in the valley to ensure that the largest amount of it is delivered to agricultural lands deprived of irrigation, thus contributing to the exploitation of the largest possible area for grain cultivation.

The head of the authority called on all farmers in Wadi Rimaa to grow grain crops and expand production in light of the blockade the country is suffering from.
