YouTube Developing an AI Tool to Use Musicians’ Voices

Washington, YouTube is currently developing an AI-powered tool that allows users to replicate the voice of famous musicians while recording audio.

The video streaming giant has reportedly approached music companies to obtain the rights to train its new AI tool on songs from their music catalogs. No deals have yet been signed by any major record label.

YouTube unveiled several new AI-powered tools for creators last month, including AI-generated photo and video backgrounds and video topic suggestions.

YouTube had hoped to include its new audio cloning tool among those announcements but was unable to secure the required rights in time.

It isnt currently clear if the discussions behind YouTubes AI voice cloning tool will help soothe potential copyright issues being raised by record labels amid the rise in AI-generated tracks that emulate popular musicians.

Some musicians have embraced AI-generated music, while many others have called for regulations to protect their voices from being duplicated without consent.

AI-generated music currently sits in something of a legal gray area due to the difficulties in establishing ownership rights over songs that replicate an artists unique voice but dont directly feature protected lyrics or audio recordings.

It isnt currently clear if training AI voice cloning tools on a record labels music catalog amounts to copyright infringement, but that hasnt soured interest in developing AI-generated music features: Meta, Google, and Stability AI have all released tools for creating AI-generated music this year.

YouTube is pitching itself as a partner that will help the industry navigate using generative AI technology. It remains to be seen if it can legally provide YouTube creators with AI voice replication tools without sparking numerous copyright lawsuits.

Qatars Support for Palestinian Cause… Firm Principles, Noble Humanitarian Values -2-

HH The Father Amir Sheikh Hamad bin Khalifa Al-Thani was the first Arab leader to visit Gaza strip after the establishment of the Palestinian Authority in 199. During his visit, he was welcomed by the late Palestinian President Yasser Arafat. This visit brought hope to the people of Gaza, as it marked a new beginning and a glimpse of optimism for over 1.7 million citizens who had endured years of Israeli blockade and the devastating Israeli military operation in 2008. This operation caused extensive destruction to both human and physical infrastructure, including homes, mosques, schools, hospitals, civil and military government facilities and infrastructure.

As part of its national role in supporting the Palestinian cause and promoting Arab solidarity, the capital of Qatar, Doha, hosted three Arab summits. One of them was the Doha Emergency Summit held in January 2009, which was named the “Gaza Summit.” During this summit, Arab leaders called for suspending the Arab Peace Initiative, halting all forms of normalization with Israel, and establishing a fund for the reconstruction of Gaza. .

Doha Emergency Summit, in its concluding statement, condemned Israel for its aggression on Gaza and demanded an immediate cessation of all forms of aggression and an immediate withdrawal of Israeli forces from Gaza. The statement also stressed the necessity of immediately and permanently opening the border crossings, and allowing all humanitarian aid to enter and distribute it freely within the Strip.

Qatar’s support for Al-Aqsa Mosque was strong and evident. In 2013, during the Arab Summit held in Doha, Qatar launched an initiative to create a fund named “Support for Jerusalem” with a budget of one billion dollars. During the Arab Economic Summit held in Kuwait in January 2009, Qatar declared its support for the Gaza Strip with a quarter-billion dollars to participate in the reconstruction of Gaza after the 2008 aggression. In the Cairo conference that took place in October 2014, after the war initiated by Israel on the Gaza Strip that summer, Qatar pledged one billion dollars for the reconstruction of the region.

Qatar is keen to pay its annual share to support the Palestinian Authority. It also continues to provide a lot of humanitarian aid to the residents of the Gaza Strip, the West Bank, and Jerusalem, through Qatari charitable societies, in addition to its contributions to supporting Palestinian educational institutions. It also received Palestinian teachers to work on its territory, and continued to support UNRWA, to enable it to fulfill its mission of relief and employment for Palestinian refugees in refugee camps.

The State of Qatar also established a residential city to accommodate the victims of the war on Gaza, and a hospital for prosthetic limbs, as part of dozens of service projects and facilities that Qatar provides to the residents of the Strip under the supervision of the Qatar’s Gaza Reconstruction Committee in all medical, humanitarian, services, health, education, housing, agriculture and electricity sectors.

At the level of Palestinian reconciliation, Doha led great efforts to end the division and achieve reconciliation between the Fatah and Hamas movements. On the humanitarian level, Qatar was the first to host fifteen Palestinian prisoners who were liberated as part of a prisoner exchange deal in 2011. They were among 40 prisoners whom Israel stipulated to be deported outside the Palestinian territories, out of a total of 477 who were released.

King at Cairo Summit for Peace demands immediate stop of war on Gaza, protection of civilians

His Majesty King Abdullah on Saturday participated in the Cairo Summit for Peace, hosted by Egypt as part of efforts to stop the war on Gaza, with the participation of world leaders and heads of Arab and international delegations. In an address to the summit, King Abdullah said the relentless bombing campaign underway in Gaza is cruel and unconscionable on every level, describing it as collective punishment of a besieged and helpless population. “It is a flagrant violation of international humanitarian law. It is a war crime,” His Majesty said. “Anywhere else, attacking civilian infrastructure and deliberately starving an entire population of food, water, electricity, and basic necessities would be condemned,” the King noted. His Majesty highlighted that the message the Arab world is hearing is loud and clear: Palestinian lives matter less than Israeli ones. “The application of international law is optional. And human rights have boundaries they stop at borders, they stop at races, they stop at religions,” the King added. His Majesty warned that the consequences of continued international apathy and inaction will be catastrophic “on us all”. The King reiterated his call for an immediate end to the war on Gaza, the protection of civilians, and the adoption of a unified position that indiscriminately condemns the targeting of all civilians, “in line with our shared values and international law, which loses all value if it is implemented selectively”. His Majesty stressed the need for sustained and uninterrupted delivery of humanitarian aid, fuel, food, and medicine to the Gaza Strip. The King reaffirmed the unequivocal rejection of the forced displacement or internal displacement of the Palestinians, describing that as a war crime according to international law, “and a red line for all of us”. “This conflict did not start two weeks ago, and it will not stop if we continue down this blood-soaked path,” His Majesty warned. The King added: “Today, Israel is literally starving civilians in Gaza, but for decades, Palestinians have been starved of hope, of freedom, and a future”. Pointing to the absence of international accountability, His Majesty said when the bombs stop falling, Israel is never held accountable, the injustices of occupation continue and the world walks away, until the next round of violence. “The bloodshed we are witnessing today is the price of that, of failing to make tangible progress towards a political horizon that brings peace for Palestinians and Israelis alike,” the King said. His Majesty said the Israeli leadership must realise that there is no military solution to its security concerns and that it cannot continue to sideline the five million Palestinians living under its occupation Israeli leadership, the King continued, must realise that Palestinian lives are no less valuable than Israeli lives. “The only path to a safe and secure future for the people of the Middle East and the entire world starts with the belief that every human life is of equal value and it ends with two states, Palestine and Israel, sharing land and peace from the river to the sea,” His Majesty concluded. Following is the full text of His Majesty’s speech: “In the name of God, the Compassionate, the Merciful Prayers and peace be upon our Prophet Mohammad, My brother, Your Excellency President Abdel Fattah El Sisi, Your Majesties, Highnesses, Excellencies, Peace, God’s mercy and blessings be upon you. My thanks to His Excellency the President for convening this meeting during these difficult times, so we can work urgently together to stop this humanitarian disaster pushing our entire region into the abyss. Allow me to speak in English to our friends from Europe and the world who join us here today. My message is to them. My friends, Peace, God’s mercy and blessings be upon you. This is how Muslims and Arabs greet others: with a wish for the other to be blessed with peace and the mercy of God. Our religion came with a message of peace. The Pact of Omar, issued at the gates of Jerusalem almost 15 centuries ago, more than a thousand years before the Geneva Conventions, ordered Muslim soldiers not to kill a child, a woman or an old person, not to destroy a tree, not to harm a priest, not to destroy a church. Those are the rules of engagement that Muslims must accept and abide by, as should all those who believe in our common humanity. All civilian lives matter! My Friends, I am outraged and grieved by those acts of violence waged against innocent civilians in Gaza, in the West Bank, and Israel. The relentless bombing campaign underway in Gaza as we speak is cruel and unconscionable on every level. It is collective punishment of a besieged and helpless people. It is a flagrant violation of international humanitarian law. It is a war crime. Yet, the deeper the crisis cuts of cruelty, the less the world seems to care. Anywhere else, attacking civilian infrastructure and deliberately starving an entire population of food, water, electricity, and basic necessities would be condemned. Accountability would be enforced, immediately, unequivocally. And it has been done before recently, in another conflict. But not in Gaza. It’s been two weeks since Israel put in place the complete siege of the Gaza Strip. And still, for the most part, global silence. Yet the message the Arab world is hearing is loud and clear: Palestinian lives matter less than Israeli ones. Our lives matter less than other lives. The application of international law is optional. And human rights have boundaries they stop at borders, they stop at races, and they stop at religions. That is a very, very dangerous message, as the consequences of continued international apathy and inaction will be catastrophic on us all. My friends, We cannot let raw emotions dictate the moment; our priorities today are clear and urgent: First: An immediate end to the war on Gaza, the protection of civilians, and the adoption of a unified position that indiscriminately condemns the targeting of all civilians, in line with our shared values and international law, which loses all value if it is implemented selectively. Second: The sustained and uninterrupted delivery of humanitarian aid, fuel, food, and medicines to the Gaza Strip. Third: The unequivocal rejection of the forced displacement or internal displacement of the Palestinians. This is a war crime according to international law, and a red line for all of us. This conflict, my friends, did not start two weeks ago, and it will not stop if we continue down this blood-soaked path. We know all too well that it will only lead to more of the same a zero-sum game of death and destruction, of hatred and hopelessness played on repeat. Today, Israel is literally starving civilians in Gaza, but for decades, Palestinians have been starved of hope, of freedom, and a future. Because when the bombs stop falling, Israel is never held accountable, the injustices of occupation continue and the world walks away, until the next round of violence. The bloodshed we are witnessing today is the price of that, of failing to make tangible progress towards a political horizon that brings peace for Palestinians and Israelis alike. Israeli leadership must realise that there is no military solution to its security concerns, that it cannot continue to sideline the five million Palestinians living under its occupation, denied of their legitimate rights, and that Palestinians lives are no less valuable than Israeli lives. The Israeli leadership must realise, once and for all, that a state can never thrive if it is built on the foundations of injustice. Over the past 15 years, we have seen how the dreams of a two-state solution and the hopes of an entire generation have turned into despair. This has been the policy of hardline Israeli leadership to focus solely on security over peace and create new illegal realities on the ground that render an autonomous Palestinian state unviable. In the process, it has empowered extremists on both sides. But we must not we cannot write off this conflict as too far gone, for the sake of both the Palestinians and the Israelis. Our collective and unified message to the Israeli people should be: We want a future of peace and security for you and for the Palestinians, where your children and Palestinian children should no longer live in fear. It is our duty as the international community to do whatever it takes to restart a meaningful political process that can take us to a just and sustainable peace on the basis of the two-state solution. The only path to a safe and secure future for the people of the Middle East and the entire world for the Jewish people, for Christians, for Muslims alike starts with the belief that every human life is of equal value and it ends with two states, Palestine and Israel, sharing land and peace from the river to the sea. The time to act is now. Thank you. Thank you all. Peace, God’s mercy and blessings be upon you.” The Jordanian delegation includes Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Ayman Safadi, Director of the Office of His Majesty Jafar Hassan, and Jordan’s Ambassador to Egypt Amjad Adaileh.

Aid convoys begin entry into Gaza through Rafah crossing

Hundreds of trucks loaded with food and medical aid began entering the Gaza Strip through the Rafah border crossing to provide aid to Palestinians amid the ongoing Israeli occupation army bombing of the Strip for the fifteenth day in a row. The trucks, which were provided by several Arab countries, including Jordan, moved into gear and headed into Gaza after waiting for a couple of days near the borders. Egyptian authorities have paved the way for aid to enter through the Rafah crossing, most of which includes the medical equipment that the Gaza Strip needs. The besieged Strip is seeing an unprecedented humanitarian disaster, with its population suffering from a scarcity of food and water as a result of the Israeli government’s comprehensive closure placed on Gaza, as well as a total blackout of electricity and gasoline.
