Scores Martyred, Wounded in Violent Israeli Bombardment on Gaza Strip

Gaza, The Israeli occupation forces launched the most intense airstrikes and artillery shelling since the beginning of the Israeli aggression on the Gaza Strip, resulting in the martyrdom of dozens of Palestinians and the injury of many more in an initial toll.

The Israeli occupation warplanes targeted the town and refugee camp of Jabalia in the northern part of the Gaza Strip with dozens of rockets and explosive concussion bombs. Massive explosions were heard, and flames and smoke rose from the areas in the northeast of the Strip due to rocket and bomb attacks by the warplanes.

Additionally, the Israeli occupation artillery stationed near the eastern separation barrier of the Gaza Strip conducted simultaneous shelling, targeting infrastructure, houses, and places of worship directly.

The bombardment resulted in the martyrdom of dozens of Palestinians and left many more with various injuries, Palestinian News Agency (WAFA) reported.

Many residents are still trapped under the rubble of destroyed homes, and civil defense teams are working to rescue them under extremely difficult conditions with a lack of necessary equipment, WAFA added.

More than half of the martyrs and the wounded are children, women, and elderly.

On Sunday evening, the Israeli occupation warplanes targeted the vicinity of Al Shefa Medical Complex in the center of Gaza City, as well as the vicinity of the Al-Quds Hospital in the western part of the city, as part of the ongoing Israeli aggression on the Gaza Strip since Oct. 7.

Senate president calls for int’l effort to end Israeli crimes against Palestinians

President of the Senate Faisal Fayez called for an international effort to stop the heinous crimes committed by the Israeli occupation forces against children, women and defenseless civilians in the Gaza Strip and West Bank cities. During a meeting on Monday with the Spanish Ambassador Miguel de Lucas, Fayez called for holding an international peace conference that would end the Arab-Israeli conflict on the basis of the two-state solution and resolutions of international legitimacy. He underscored that there will only be security and stability in the region by resolving the Palestinian issue in accordance with the resolutions of international legitimacy and the two-state solution and empowering the Palestinian people with their legitimate rights by establishing an independent state with East Jerusalem as its capital. He underlined the need to stop the Israeli aggression against the Palestinian people and the rejection of violence and the killing of civilians. Israel’s policy of forced displacement, systematic killing, scorched earth policy, cutting off water and electricity, starving the Palestinians of the Gaza Strip, sieging Palestinian cities, and using internationally banned weapons violates all international laws and human rights principles, and will not give it security and stability, he added. He pointed out that the unlimited international support for Israel and the continued supply of weapons to it at the expense of Palestinian blood, in light of the international silence regarding Israeli practices, will push the region and the world toward more violence.

Gaza: No fuel in aid convoy, health system on brink of collapse

Aid trucks that entered the Gaza Strip in the past two days include no fuel as the health and service sectors are on the brink of collapse amid the ongoing Israeli war on the blockaded coastal enclave, the government media office in Gaza warned. The media office said that since the beginning of the Israeli aggression, no fuel had entered to Gaza despite urgent appeals by hospitals and health centers, warning that fuel currently available is not enough for hospitals to continue to work and threatening the lives of civilians. The international community has called for the opening of a safe corridor to bring in aid, medical supplies and fuel and allow the sick and wounded to be treated outside Gaza, warning of an impending disaster if the crossings are not opened to allow the entry of medical and food aid for civilians, most of whom are children, women and the elderly. The death toll from the Israeli war on Gaza, now in its 16th day, has climbed to 4,741, including more than 1,873 children and 1,023 women, and more than 14,000 wounded.
