The IHEC: These Are The Statistics Of Our Preparation For The Provincial Elections

The Independent High Electoral Commission (IHEC) announced new statistics on its procedures and preparations for the provincial council elections, which are scheduled for the end of this year.

The head of the IHEC’s media team, Imad Jamil, said in a press conference today, Tuesday, that “more than 220,000 voters have updated their data, and more than a quarter of a million voters have visited the registration centers for the purpose of checking the data.”

He added, “The candidates are competing for 275 seats in the governorates, and 10 seats for the components distributed by 4 for Christians, 2 for Faili Kurds, the same number for Sabean Mandaeans, and one seat for each of the Yazidis and Shabak.”

He continued to say, “Nineveh was the first among the provinces in terms of demand for modernization centers, followed by Baghdad Al-Karkh, Salah al-Din, Baghdad al-Rusafa, and Kirkuk,” noting that “Najaf and Diyala are the provinces with the least demand for modernization centers, because they have high registration rates in previous modernization and registration processes.”

Najaf Civil Defense: 15 firefighting vehicles participated in putting out the tourist hotel fire

Najaf Civil Defense media official, Ali Twaij, announced the end of operations to put out the fire at Al-Shifaa Tourist Hotel in the Old City, with the participation of 15 firefighting vehicles, rescue and evacuation of all Iranian visitors in the hotel.

Twaij indicated in a press statement that no death was recorded and that all hotel guests were rescued and evacuated, with the formation of an investigation committee by the Civil Defense and the Criminal Evidence Department to find out the circumstances of the accident.

He confirmed that no death was recorded, with 72 burns or fractures, including three serious cases of Iraqis, and the percentage of burns reached 88%.

She said in a tweet today: “Itron, the world’s leading company, is ready to modernize the electricity grid in Iraq by organizing energy distribution to Iraqi consumers, with American technology that can help eliminate electricity theft, reduce power outages, and provide reliable energy for Iraq.”

The President of the Republic separately receives the credentials of the new Ambassadors of Algeria and the United Kingdom

The President of the Republic, Abdul Latif Jamal Rashid, received today, Tuesday, at the Baghdad Palace, the credentials of the new Ambassadors to Iraq for the People’s Democratic Republic of Algeria, Jihad Eddin Belkas, and the United Kingdom, Stephen Hitchen.

The media office of the presidency said in a statement, “The President expressed, during the meeting of the two Ambassadors separately, his wishes for success in the performance of their work, pointing to Iraq’s aspiration to strengthen bilateral relations with the two countries in a manner that serves common interests.”

For their part, the two Ambassadors expressed their thanks and appreciation to the President of the Republic, stressing the aspiration of their two countries to strengthen existing relations with Iraq in various fields.
